Summer may be behind us, but that’s no reason to hibernate for the winter – not just yet anyway. This month, we have so many activities to keep the whole family entertained; we don’t know where to start!

It’s been a busy summer, but we are thrilled to finally be able to share the Festival Laval Laughs with you all this month. The first of its kind here in Laval, we are ecstatic to bring this amazing line-up to you and your family. In this issue, you’ll get to know some of the fantastic comedians headlining our festival, like Hollywood comedian Pauly Shore, among many others. Plus, the festival includes shows in both English and French and even includes a bilingual show. You will find plenty of information about when and where our shows will be and how you can get tickets throughout the magazine. We hope to see you all there, laughing out loud!

We also have a lot to share with you about the Fête de quartier Val-des- Brises. The annual block party will host guests like DJ Stevie V and The Beat 92.5’s Cousin Vinny. There will be live musical performances all day and tons of activities for the whole family to enjoy together on September 16th.

Laval is welcoming lots of new things this fall, including a brand new 30 Minute Hit location for anyone looking to get pumped and jump into a high-intensity workout. The couple behind this gym are working to make physical fitness work for everyone. The city also recently welcomed a brand new pizza restaurant. Lì O Là Pizzeria specializes in traditional Neapolitan pizza and promises fun for the entire family. Be sure to read all about their Kid’s Corner and unique amaro bar in this issue. We’re also pleased to share with you the new look of Laval’s The Suburban newspaper, which is taking on a new focus this fall.

In case you missed it, the Laval Rockets had their first hockey season last year and it was a success. Herds of fans came to cheer on the team at Place Bell. This year, there are plans to improve the fan experience even further and making it an affordable and exciting activity for the whole family. Read all about the team, the plans for the 2018-2019 season, and consult the game schedule in this issue.

As usual, our calendars are jam-packed – there is a lot going on in our fine city this fall and we want you to take advantage of every opportunity. From comedy shows to sports, Laval Families has something for everyone.
