For the last four years, I have been playing soccer and I love it more and more as the years pass.

I love it so much that I play all year round. My favourite position to play is goalie because I have the opportunity to save shots with my hands. It is exciting to be a goalie because I have to follow the game and always be aware in case someone gets a breakaway. Sometimes I like to play forward so I am the one that has the opportunity to score. What a fun game!

Soccer is my life because it makes me feel more vibrant and energized. The benefits of playing soccer are that I get to spend time with my friends and exercise, which keeps me healthy! In soccer, when you have possession of the ball, you need to get open and extend your space. When you lose possession, you need to get between the ball and your net. Practice makes my arms and legs stronger so I can run fast. Playing soccer makes me happy and excited because I love saving the shots when I am in nets!

When you play a team sport, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose. There are always two things you need to remember; try your best and have fun. That is what I like about my soccer team. We practice really hard, we encourage each other and we never give up. If we don’t play as a team, we won’t succeed.

My favourite person to play soccer with is my dad. He is the best coach. We love to play soccer in the backyard after school. He takes the time to teach me new things and helps me get better. He always tells me to stay on my toes so I am ready when the ball comes my way and he teaches me the rules so I understand the game. When I grow up I hope I am as good a soccer player as my dad and make him proud because he is my hero!
