Finding an adequate activity for new parents can be challenging because few environments are suitable for the delicate nature of a baby. The Orchestre symphonique de Laval has a solution for this situation through a special symphonic representation, adapted to the parent-baby reality.

The Bébé-Musique concert is an event that combines the beneficial effects of music on health to an environment tailored for parents and their babies.

Well-being and symphonic music
Does music have any real health benefits on an individual? The answer is yes! The president of the Association québécoise de Musicothérapie, Guylaine Vallancourt, recommends that parents get out "to attend concerts of all kinds, so that you can find the music that is best for you and the infant." (Le Devoir).

This year, two London researchers have shown that attending an orchestral concert reduces stress, regardless of age.

A tailor-made event
The Orchestre symphonique de Laval invites parents to enjoy a moment of relaxation with their child in the world of symphonic music. The parents will recognize the familiar melodies of Mozart and Haydn while the child will be introduced to the vivacity and lightness of the music.

Do not worry; baby sounds and gargles are welcome to join the sound of violins, flutes and trumpets! This one-hour concert will take place in the afternoon and will be followed by a meeting in the foyer of Salle André-Mathieu with the musicians and the conductor.

Do not miss this cultural event, well acclimatized to the parent-baby reality, on March 15th, 2017, at 1 pm.
