With flextime, telecommuting, and gas prices on the rise, it’s become clear over the past years that people need flexibility in their commute. We hear you and we’re working on it.

Bus service planning is a complex process that takes into account different aspects such as the availability of drivers and vehicles, the extent of Laval’s road network, connections to other modes of transportation, and ridership fluctuations based on commuting patterns.

Still, that doesn’t mean there can be no change! All it means is that we need to look at trends across the network and use our transit survey results to plan things out in advance.

Where are we headed?
Rush-hour commute to Montreal aside, the way people use public transit has changed—even more so since the beginning of 2020. Our planned service improvements are designed to accommodate our customers’ requests:

  • Increase bus service during off-peak hours and on weekends
  • Make transfers and east-to-west commuting easier
  • Better serve businesses in industrial areas, for example

Planned improvements
Like we said, we’re moving your way. Here are some of the changes we’ve made to our bus routes and schedules:

  • Shared taxi T16 is now route 16 to make commuting easier for people working in the Armand-Frappier district.
  • Routes 50 and 58 have been extended to better serve businesses in the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul industrial district.
  • Bus service hours have been extended and bus service frequency has been increased on routes 42, 43, 45, 50, 58, 65, 73, 151 and 222.
  • Trip times have been revised to improve on-time performance on routes impacted by major roadwork.

We will continue to gradually improve our services as our customers’ needs change. Stay tuned for updates!
