I recently met with Tim Foreman and Ron Turchyniak, two Educational Technology Consultants from the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School board who apprised me regarding the upcoming “Google for Education Summit”. On December 5th and 6th 2015, Tim, Ron and the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board are excited to announce that they will host a special “Google for Education Summit” at Rosemere High School. Rosemere High School is one of the largest English schools on the North Shore, 35 kilometers north of Montreal and home to almost 1200 students.

The Google Summit is open to everyone and the school board would like to share this information to its community of teachers, school leaders, parents, and all stakeholders in the Laval, Lanaudiere, Laurentides region who enjoy being on the cutting edge of technology. Teachers may use their professional development fund if they wish. Ron and Tim have received positive feedback from the teachers who are very excited about attending the Summit. For these teachers, it means that they will have an opportunity to get one step ahead of their students! The Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board continues to attract students to their schools due to the known fact that their schools are innovative and offer today’s learners an environment to learn using the most updated tools available..

Attending the Google Summit is an ideal way for one to learn about Chromebooks, Google docs, Google Sites, Google Calendar, G mail power tips, Google Glass, and much more. Presenters at this Summit are world-class renowned, so come one and all to learn all you ever wanted to know about Google. The Google platform for Education is buzzing worldwide and no wonder, with Google’s amazing and wondrous tool kit.

Ron Turchyniak stated that the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board currently has 17,156 active Google app accounts and supports learning with more than 565 Chromebooks to the students at both Lake of Two Mountains High School and Rosemere High School for their pilot project with Chromebooks during the last years.

The Summit takes place over two days and is expected to be an inspirational weekend. Ron and Tim also eagerly explained that participants can expect sessions that focus on application of Google tools in various learning settings, with testimonials, and true classroom examples will be integrated into the two days. Everyone is welcome to attend!
